Introduction
Andrews & Wallis Motor Group Pty Ltd trading as City Mazda is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers. City Mazda is bound by the National Privacy Principals set out in the Privacy Act 1988(the Act). We will only collect, use or disclose personal information in accordance with the Act and this Privacy Policy.
How do we collect personal information?
City Mazda may collect personal information in a number of ways. The most common circumstances are when a person:
- takes a test drive;
- purchases a new or used vehicle;
- has a vehicle serviced;
- enquires about a vehicle or product;
- requests a brochure or product information;
- enters a competition or trade promotion;
What personal information do we collect?
Depending on the circumstances in which information is collected, City Mazda may collect details including your name, address, email address, drivers license, phone and fax numbers.
When arranging finance for a purchase, we may also collect a range of financial information deemed relevant to the application.
In some cases may also collect demographic information so as to better understand and service our customers.
How do we use your personal information?
We may use your personal information for the following purposes:
- to complete a transaction to which that personal information relates, such as a completion of order forms;
- to communicate information about products and services to you;
- for our internal administrative, marketing, planning; product and development research requirements
If at any time you chose to opt out of receiving any communications from us, you need only contact us to advise accordingly.
To whom do we disclose personal information?
City Mazda may disclose personal information to our distributor (Mazda Australia) or to contractors (such as mailing houses and IT providers) who require access to that information to perform services for us. We require our distributor and contractors to keep that personal information confidential and to not use or disclose it for any purpose other than the purpose of performing those services.
When arranging finance for a purchase, City Mazda may disclose personal information to the relevant finance company and to others in accordance with the finance agreement.
In exceptional circumstances, we may be required or authorised by law to disclose personal information, for example to law enforcement authorities or to prevent a serious threat to public safety.
How is personal information secured?
We take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or exposure. We require all staff to maintain the confidentiality of customer information. Access to information stored electronically is restricted to employees whose job requires access to the information. Access to our computer system is restricted through password protection.
Accessing and updating your personal information
Any person may seek access to personal information that we hold about that person and we will provide that information in accordance with the Act. We may require that the person requesting access provide suitable identification before granting the request.
If you become aware that any personal information which we hold about you is incorrect, you may contact City Mazda to correct and update that information.
