Hello and welcome to
City Mazda's

As we move into the latter half of the year, City Mazda continues to deliver you more exciting news, as we gear up for another big month!

This month we encourage you to enter Mazda’s new competition where you and three friends can enjoy a turbocharged day of a lifetime racing around Sandown Racecourse thanks to the new generation Mazda3 MPS.

We also introduce you to the City Mazda courtesy bus driver Alf and tell you how Alf can drive you to and from the CBD next time you book your car in for a service with us.

Remember to pop into the dealership to say hello next time you’re in the area.

INTRODUCING ALF: OUR COURTESY BUS DRIVER

Alf Bonano has been with City Mazda since our move to our South Melbourne address driving our customers to and from the city to help make their lives a little easier when servicing their car.

Alf says that meeting and talking to new people is what he enjoys most about his job, especially when he gets to speak in Italian to people at the dealership, and even more when it’s discussing good food!

Driving our service customers to the city with his first CBD run leaving at 7.45am and the first St. Kilda Road run at 8.15am, Alf can drop you off in the CBD for shopping or work, and then pick you up to deliver you safely back to our service department when your car is ready.

Remember to give Alf a wave next time you see him driving by in the City Mazda courtesy bus and enquire with our service department about our courtesy bus routes here.

NINE DOLLAR MUSHROOM AND ROCKET RISOTTO

Try this tasty mushroom and rocket risotto for just nine dollars!

Ingredients

2 cups (500ml) chicken stock
3 1/2 cups (875ml) water
50g butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
250g button mushrooms, sliced thickly
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 medium (300g) brown onions, sliced thinly
2 cups (400g) arborio rice
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
3/4 cup (60g) grated parmesan cheese
30g butter, chopped, extra
1 bunch (250g) rocket, trimmed
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

This recipe is best made close to serving.

Combine stock and water in a large saucepan; bring to the boil then reduce heat to simmer gently.

Meanwhile, heat half the butter and half the oil in a separate large saucepan; add mushrooms, cook, stirring, until browned lightly.  Add garlic; cook, stirring, until fragrant.  Remove from pan, cover to keep warm.

Heat remaining butter and oil in the same pan; cook onion, stirring, until soft.  Add rice, stir over a medium heat until the rice is coated in butter mixture.  Stir in 1/2 cup (125ml) of the stock mixture, cook, stirring, over a low heat until liquid is absorbed.

Continue adding stock mixture, in 1/2 cup batches, stirring after each addition until liquid is absorbed.  Total cooking time should be about 20 minutes or until rice is tender.

Stir in mushroom mixture, parsley, cheese, extra butter and rocket.  Season to taste with salt and pepper and top with extra parmesan cheese flakes, if desired.
